Hamer Tribe Ethiopia Painting

Size

This talented Zimbabwean born artist is self taught and fascinated with the African women who bear the brunt of the brutal life in Africa. Seeking out faces whose eyes and lines etched into their skin tell the story of Africa and the difficulties of supporting families, raising children and surviving in harsh conditions.

The stunning face in this painting is a Hamar tribes woman. The tribe is known for it’s exciting bridegroom bull jumping initiation ceremony and some really interesting hair cuts! Cowrie shells and trade beads are iconic in most African Tribes for representing fertility and wealth and both are represented.

This stunning portrait will leave you speechless in size and impact.
